Night Watch Pediatric Urgent Care is a trusted, physician-led urgent care center devoted exclusively to children. Our mission is to provide after-hours, walk-in pediatric care that is accessible, compassionate, and evidence-based. We specialize in treating acute illnesses and minor injuries when most primary care offices are closed, giving families peace of mind during evenings and weekends.

As a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) at Night Watch, you'll provide acute pediatric care in a fast-paced urgent care environment. You will treat infants, children, and adolescents presenting with non-life-threatening conditions such as fever, respiratory infections, minor injuries, rashes, ear infections, and more.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct focused physical exams and obtain patient history
• Diagnose and manage common pediatric illnesses and injuries
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests (strep, flu, urinalysis, x-rays, etc.)
• Administer treatments and perform urgent care procedures:
  • Wound care and suturing
  • Incision and drainage
  • Splinting and casting
  • Nebulizer treatments
  • Administering medications and injections
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about diagnoses and care plans
• Collaborate with physicians, RNs, and MAs to ensure smooth patient flow
• Document all encounters accurately using ECW (eClinicalWorks)

Job Details:

• Hours: 32-36 hours per week
• Shift Options: Evenings, weekends, and rotating weekends
• Location: Winchester, VA 22601
• Employment Type: Full-time
• Relocation: Must be able to commute or relocate before start date

Licensure & Education:

• Active Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license in Virginia
• Master's degree from an accredited PA or NP program
• Valid PALS certification (Required)
• DEA license (Preferred)

Experience:

• Minimum 1 year of experience in pediatrics (urgent care, ER, or outpatient)
• Experience with common pediatric procedures (suturing, splinting, etc.)
• Familiarity with electronic health records (preferably eClinicalWorks)
• Medical terminology and anatomy knowledge: 1 year (Required)

Preferred Skills:

• Spanish-speaking or bilingual (Preferred, not required)
• Strong communication and bedside manner with children and families
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced clinical environment
